Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In recent decades, advances in analytical and data-handling technologies have made metabolomics highly valued and widely exploited in a broad range of fields. For the study of plants, metabolomics has emerged as an indispensable tool for analyzing thousands of plant metabolites and providing detailed insights into the chemical composition and how plants live and function. However, plant metabolomics still faces significant challenges, including the optimization of sample preparation at reduced labor and cost for chemically diverse plant metabolites in addition to their compound identification, particularly secondary plant metabolites.
The Special Issue is devoted to research papers that use the metabolomics approach on plants or extracts to overcome the current limitations in plant metabolomics. We invite researchers to submit their manuscripts on various aspects of plant metabolomics, ranging from sample preparation to data analysis. Any novel works in plant metabolomics that include (not exclusively) sample preparation, data handling tools to convert massive data into meaningful information, phytochemical compound identification, and pathway analysis are welcome.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Metabolites is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
