Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
As the complexity of patients presenting for valvular heart intervention continues to increase, it is increasingly necessary to adopt a multi-disciplinary team to help select the optimal treatment for the patient.
Increasingly, this involves discussion around traditional conventional surgical approaches vs. newer trans-catheter interventions, as well as adjunctive vascular procedures that can aid in the safe delivery of these devices.
Accordingly, our Essex CardioThoracic Centre Valve Multi-Disciplinary Group (ECTC-VMDG) Collaborative invites contributions to this journal that showcase a holistic approach to the contemporary surgical (and transcatheter) treatment of valvular heart disease, giving vascular/endovascular consideration attention to all aspects of the multi-specialty group that delivers care to this rapidly expanding group of patients.
