Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Post COVID marks an era of medical evolution which demands efficient healthcare systems to optimize hospital bed usage. Spine surgery has evolved in the last few decades to meet this increasing demand of gaining access to previously difficult-to-access targets, achieving optimal targeting of decompression and stabilization of the spine with less tissue trauma and collateral soft tissue damage.

Our Special Issue targets advances in spinal techniques in (1) getting more accurate placement of screws through navigation and robotics in spinal segments, (2) gaining access to ventral, lateral and posterior approaches using spinal endoscope specialized retractor systems, (3) using specialized technique equipment to minimize soft tissue damages and reduce morbidity in complex spinal operations in adults and paediatric spinal surgery, (4) using 3D-printed models and moulds to aid in surgical planning and (5) the use of augmented reality to provide precise and efficient spinal surgeries. We look forward to receiving articles with cutting-edge research on topics related to advances in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery.
