Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The special issue explores the nuanced landscape of laparoscopic surgery for all abdominal cancers, revealing on both its advantages and limitations. A comprehensive examination of the benefits reveals that laparoscopic techniques offer minimally invasive surgery, resulting in reduced postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times, becoming the key factor in ERAS concept. The articles delve into how these advantages contribute to improved patient outcomes and enhanced quality of life.

However, the special issue does not shy away from addressing the limitations of laparoscopic surgery in the context of abdominal cancers. It elucidates challenges such as restricted tactile feedback, technical complexities, and body mass index associated with mastering this surgical approach. We emphasize the importance of surgeon expertise and patient selection for optimal outcomes.

In summary, this special issue would provide a balanced exploration of laparoscopic surgery's merits and challenges in treating abdominal cancers. By dissecting the intricacies of this surgical modality, it equips healthcare professionals with valuable insights to navigate the complexities and make informed or even crucial decisions in abdominal cancer treatment.
