Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Psychiatric comorbidities commonly occur in demyelinating disorders, encompassing a wide range of pathology, from anxiety to psychosis. They may complicate diagnosis, quality of life, prognosis and therapeutic intervention. Several aspects of these comorbidities, such as pathobiology, correlation with immune and imaging biomarkers, prognostic significance and optimal treatments, have not been fully investigated.

In this Special Issue we welcome original research and review articles investigating the role of neuroinflammation and autoimmunity in the development of psychiatric disorders, the mechanisms involved, the interplay between psychiatric morbidity and course of demyelinating disease, as well as advanced MRI metrics related to clinical severity and therapeutic outcome. Studies on optimal management and ways to improve the quality of life of people with demyelinating diseases and concurrent mental health disorders are also welcome.
