The authors of the paper entitled "Practical implementation of an analogue and digital electronics system for a modular cosmic ray detector – MCORD" presents aspects of technological nature relative to the realization of a cosmic ray detector. The present work is partially in the extension of a previously published work on the same subject.

Recommendations:

1.       In the introduction to explicitly mention the elements of novelty brought in this new version, the adaptation does not ensure a clear description of the concepts involved or sufficient references.

2.       A broader approach to references is recommended.

3.       In the paper there are many details of a technical nature that can be useful for readers who intend to make a cosmic ray detector. Due to the abundance of scientifically useless information, the work is rather a service manual.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

The recommendation to abandon jargon in favour of academic language did not resonate.  It is a technical article (how to do it if you don't know) and not a scientific article aimed at those, according to the response to the recommendations, who don't know electronics and want to play smart too.  The authors state in their response to the recommendation that this article helps them do that. If they have this conviction the article can be published for this extremely significant contribution.
