Dear Colleagues,
The topic of electric mobility is not new; however, after two decades of quick growth, it is gaining a new perspective framed in diverse scenarios, permitting, more than ever, cooperative operations with other indispensable technologies for a more sustainable power grid. In fact, the global market of electric vehicles is increasing each year, where almost all the players have electric models for the most varied contexts, accounting for a relevant portion of the new registered vehicles around the world. This Special Issue aims to identify and discuss the current trends of different types of electric vehicles across the globe. It also intends to establish a conducting line relative to the integration of electric vehicles with power grids, considering the new perspectives for the next decades, including the inherent technologies on board of the electric vehicles (e.g., hybrid storage technologies and faster charging systems), and also more flexible operations within various contexts, including smart grids, smart homes, and smart cities (e.g., multiple faster-charging systems and bidirectional and flexible charging systems). In addition, it also aims to contextualize diverse objectives targeting the full adoption of electric mobility, including inductive wireless charging systems, unified traction and charging systems, and innovative solutions for electrified railways, aircraft, bicycles, ships, trucks, pallet trucks and forklifts. This Special Issue aims to receive feature papers, review papers, and research papers, with topics aligned with (but not limited to):
- In-depth assessment of different types of electric vehicles;
- Energy storage technologies and supply chain;
- Government objectives and strategies;
- Charging infrastructures;
- Auxiliary battery charging systems;
- On-board battery charger technologies and operation modes;
- Integration of electric vehicles in distribution power grids;
- Electric motors and power electronics systems for different types of electric vehicles;
- Electric vehicles perspectives worldwide;
- Road electric vehicles (cars and trucks), railway vehicles, electric ships, and electric aircrafts;
- Lightweight electric vehicles, bicycles, pallet trucks, forklifts, etc.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
