Dear Colleagues,
Wastewater treatment is a mature and well known branch of science and technology capable of facing most social and industrial needs in wastewater control, management and depollution. However, new challenges have arisen related to emerging pollutants, new process and technologies development, the review of processes to minimize resource demands, process intensification, water–energy nexus, and many other concerns. These challenges constitute research opportunities, making water treatment a promising area for R&D.
The aim of the Special Issue of Applied Sciences, entitled “Research Progress of Wastewater Treatment Technology”, is to share the last advances in order to face challenges and maximize opportunities.
I encourage you to submit your latest research in all the fields related to the scope of this Special Issue, including biowastes treatment via thermochemical, hydrothermal, chemical or biologic processes to produce hydrogen or chemicals.
