This Special Issue will include high-quality papers presented during the 11th Asia-Pacific Conference of Transducers and Micro-Nano Technology (APCOT2024), which is a biannual conference of the Asia–Pacific scientific community on advanced sensors, actuators, and micro-nano technology (https://www.apcot2024.org/). This Special Issue focuses on sensor and sensing technology, and you can also choose our Joint Special Issue in Actuators that focuses on actuation technology.
Micro- and nano-sensors detect and measure physical, chemical, or biological parameters at incredibly small scales. By leveraging miniaturization and advanced micro/nano-fabrication techniques, micro- and nano-sensors offer faster detection, enhanced sensitivity, improved selectivity, and the ability to integrate into small devices or systems. They enable real-time monitoring, precise measurements, and data-driven decision-making, leading to improved efficiency, accuracy, and control in various fields. These sensors play an increasingly important role in diverse applications, including healthcare, environmental monitoring, industrial processes, and consumer electronics. The scope of this Special Issue include but is not limited to:
- New sensing principles;
- Materials and fabrication for micro/nano sensors;
- Integration and packaging techniques;
- Physical sensors;
- Chemical sensors;
- Biochemical and biomedical sensors;
- Wearable and flexible sensors;
- Internet of Things (IoTs) and smart systems;
- AI, machine learning, and advanced sensing algorithms;
- Energy and resource efficiency in sensors.
Although this Special Issue targets mainly original research and review papers extending from the APCOT conference, high-quality submissions outside of this conference but within the scope of this Special Issue will also be considered for publication.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
