Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In the last decades, the use of polymers as biomaterials has significantly impacted the development of the modern medicine. Features like flexibility in the chemical structure, biocompatibility and biodegradability makes polymers appropriate candidate for a broad range of medical applications. The improvement of polymeric materials designed for the complex biological requirements involved in therapeutic applications is an interdisciplinary field which brings together knowledge from different fields such as material science, physics, chemistry, biology, engineering and clinical science.
This Special Issue, entitled "Polymer Applications in the Medical Field", aims to collect the latest and most promising achievements regarding the development of tailor-made polymers for biomedical applications such as damaged tissues repair, drug delivery, implants or tissue engineering. Relevant studies related to synthesis of innovative polymeric systems or devices to targeted application, can represent a significant contribution to this Special Issue and to the scientific community in the field.
Original research papers and review articles are very much welcome.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
