Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death worldwide. Bearing in mind the magnitude of this problem, considerable scientific efforts are being made to understand the pathophysiology underlying CAD, with the aim of closing the existing knowledge gap.

Mechanistic research and noninvasive diagnostic tools have shed light on novel key players implicated in CAD’s development, and intracoronary imaging and functional studies have provided insights into the coronary atherosclerotic plaque phenotype and coronary microvascular function in patients with CAD.

This Special Issue aims to address the current advancements in our collective understanding and management of CAD, from pathophysiology to diagnosis and therapy, focusing on the role of novel emerging technologies in guiding the management of patients and potentially paving the way towards future personalized therapies for this population. This Special Issue welcomes both original research papers and review articles.
