Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to introduce a Special Issue entitled "Metabolic Health Advances: Surgery, Microbiome, and Beyond". This Special Issue aims to gather a collection of scientific articles that highlight the latest developments in the field of metabolism and its connection to different aspects of health and disease. It includes an exploration of the influence of the human microbiome on obesity and metabolic diseases. The selected articles may discuss subjects such as the longitudinal shifts in microbiome composition and microbial pathways after bariatric surgery, the mechanistic function of the gut microbiota and its ability to influence the results of metabolic surgery, and the progress made in microbiome engineering.

Recent advances in metabolism research have provided valuable insights into its complex connection with overall well-being. Recent research has brought attention to the promising application of microbe-based therapeutics in enhancing surgical outcomes and potentially reducing the necessity for invasive treatments in the future. Furthermore, the articles published in this Special Issue will provide valuable insights into the dynamic alterations in metabolism following therapeutic interventions, shedding light on the potential improvements associated with these interventions.

We believe that this Special Issue will contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the field of metabolic health and provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to stay abreast of the latest advancements and future directions in this rapidly evolving field.
