Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The present Special Issue, edited by Dr. Georgia Hardavella and Dr. Eleni Karetsi, will focus on the early diagnosis and treatment of lung and pleural diseases. It will cover the entire breath of Respiratory Medicine and Thoracic Surgery, with the main emphasis being on early diagnosis and how this can impact subsequent treatment. This Special Issue aims to cover early diagnosis ranging from screening, biomarkers and imaging to diagnostics, interventions and treatment modalities. The target audience is, but is not limited to, respiratory physicians, thoracic surgeons, scientists, allied healthcare professionals. Early diagnosis is now fundamental in respiratory medicine, with the potential to become a game changer in the long-term management of lung and pleural diseases. On this note, this Special Issue aims to collate all up-to-date reviews and research papers relating to the early diagnosis and subsequent management of lung and pleural conditions.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Life is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
