Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to contribute to the upcoming Special Issue of JCM, entitled “Recent Advances and Clinical Outcomes of Corneal Transplantation and Eye Banking”.

Therapeutic treatment for corneal disorders, especially corneal transplantation, is going from strength to strength thanks to the development of posterior lamellar keratoplasty techniques in the last two decade. The implemenation of DMEK has doubled the number of transplantions performed in many western countries. The increasing demand for high-quality corneal tissue cannot always be met by eye banks.

Many questions still remain unanswered. How best to improve the availability and quality of the grafts? How can operations be formed in a more optimal fashion? How should we improve our post-operative management so that our grafts serve patients for as long as possible?

We are excited to receive your answers to these and other questions.
