23–26 June 2023 32nd Scientific Meeting of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) on “Hypertension and Cardiovascular Protection”

Milan, Italy

Dear Colleagues,

We are honored and at the same time excited to send you this cordial invitation to attend the 32nd Scientific Meeting of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) on “Hypertension and Cardiovascular Protection”, which will be held in Milan, June 23-26, 2023.

The 2023 Annual Milan Meeting provides the possibility of onsite as well as online participation, aiming to meet the needs of European colleagues as well as colleagues from around the world.

The meeting will devote its attention primarily to the mechanistic, diagnostic and therapeutic novelties that have been obtained on hypertension in the recent past. It will also focus, however, on the comorbidities that are closely related to high blood pressure, including risk factors such as diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemias and obesity as well as coronary artery heart disease, stroke, heart failure, peripheral artery abnormalities and dementia. Our aim is to develop a meeting that provides a critical update on research progress in this fundamental area of medicine and at the same time helps clinical practice to obtain optimal management of the hypertensive patient. In this context, a key aspect of the meeting will be the presentation of the new ESH hypertension guidelines which will then be widely discussed by the audience and among experts.

The scientific program will consist of multiple state-of-the-art lectures, debates and round tables, and live cases on issues of major current clinical interest, targeting enhanced interaction with both digital and physical audiences. The meeting will be an integrated scaffold of learning, sharing knowledge and breakthrough science. Drawing on past meetings, the program will include, how-to, meet the expert and clinical case sessions, as well as special sessions reserved for hypertension specialists and ESH Excellence Centres.

As usual, the ESH meeting will be held in the Congress Center of the Milan City Fair, which can optimally accommodate the large number of participants and the diversified scientific and educational activities that characterize the European Hypertension Meetings, and which has a suitable exhibition space for the Industry. The City Fair is only few stops away from the center of Milan (the Cathedral Square) and can easily be reached from major hotels.

Your participation will contribute significantly to the success of the meeting!

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Milan!

15–19 October 2023 The World Federation of Neurology’s XXVI World Congress of Neurology (WCN 2023)

Montreal, Canada

Dear Colleagues,

The World Federation of Neurology’s XXVI World Congress of Neurology (WCN 2023) will be held in Montreal, Canada, from 15 October to 19 October 2023. The congress will be proudly co-hosted by the Canadian Neurological Society (CNS). We hope that this event will bring us back to our regular congress routine and that we will be able to see each other in person, rekindle friendships and collaborations, and establish new ones.

This WCN will bring us up to date in the broad field of neurology, from tropical neurology to molecular genetics. The Scientific and Teaching Programs are at the core of the World Congress of Neurology. These are complemented by plenary lectures from leading experts in their fields, the exciting and entertaining Tournament of the Minds, cutting-edge scientific sessions relevant to all corners of the globe, and poster sessions that will feature the research of future young neurologists.

In addition to learning, the WCN offers excellent opportunities for communication and exchange. After over two years of pandemic restrictions, we will be able to see and learn from each other!

The WCN rotates between six different regions of the world, all with different health systems, backgrounds, neurological challenges, and needs. This congress will be a valuable forum for the exchange of clinical experience, personal trajectory, and science, as well as to mentor and nurture the next generation.

The WFN will provide congress bursaries for young neurologists to attend the WCN in person from low-income or low-middle-income countries.

Montreal is a wonderful destination. A safe and relatively inexpensive city with much to offer. Montreal also has a rich history of neurology, with giants such as Dr. Wilder Penfield, Dr. Brenda Milner, and many others. The Montreal Neurological Institute will be open to those interested in the history of neurology. Montreal is a multicultural city that has at its core French culture, with all the different aspects of French culture, particularly a keen interest in food.

For the WFN and its members, this biennial meeting is an opportunity to emphasize the global reality of our neurological world. We hope you will be able to join us for what will be an exceptional meeting!

7–9 December 2023 WCIRDC 2023—21st Annual World Congress on Insulin Resistance, Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease (WCIRDC)

Los Angeles, USA

The World Congress on Insulin Resistance, Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease (WCIRDC), now in its 20th year, is a unique and exciting multidisciplinary CME conference. The Congress has become the premier global meeting dedicated to diabetes, obesity, lipids, cardiovascular-kidney, and liver disease, linking basic research to clinical practice in the pursuit of our theme: Exploring New Frontiers in Metabolism — Tomorrow’s Clinical Science Today.

WCIRDC 2023 will return to a live, in-person meeting at the Hilton Universal City Hotel in Los Angeles, on December 7-9, 2023.

WCIRDC is the only meeting of its size combining basic and clinical science. For nearly two decades, it has brought researchers, physicians, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals together for a distinctive international program that bridges the latest developments from bench-to-bedside-to-bench. “I heard it first at the Congress” is a frequent remark from the audience. WCIRDC offers attendees a unique experience to interact with the distinguished global faculty. It has an intimate setting, for a collaborative experience that explores the newest understanding of metabolic diseases and the development of future therapeutic modalities.

Since Dr. Gerald Reaven’s pioneering work crystallized the relationship between insulin resistance (IR), diabetes, obesity, and CVD, the Congress’ focus has expanded to cover the kidney, liver, brain, bone, cancer, and more.  The Congress addresses dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis, hypertension, hypercoagulation, inflammation, and energy metabolism. It provides the newest clinical updates on pharmaceutical interventions such as GLP1ra, SGLT2i’s, PCSK9i’s, MRA, and EPA, to name a few. The goal is to understand the state-of-the-art pathophysiology and new medical interventions, and to develop appropriate comprehensive clinical management strategies.

To make basic and clinical research topics relevant to clinical medicine, following each session there will be a live Q&A and a discussion on the implications to clinical practice. To promote more interaction with the faculty and provide further insights, each day will end with one hour of a live panel, providing a summary of the day, commentary, and opening for Q&A.

The Congress attracts state-of-the-art abstracts, young up-and-coming researchers, as well as recognized leaders from around the globe.
