Dear Colleagues,
The discovery of new drugs is essential for the treatment of various human pathologies. Natural products derived from plants, animals, and microorganisms have been a valuable source of bioactive compounds for drug development. In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in natural products for drug discovery due to their unique chemical structures and diverse biological activities. In this context, the study of human pathologies and the identification of natural products that can treat or alleviate their symptoms has become an important area of research. This special issue will provide an overview of the current state of drug discovery from nature for human pathologies, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in this field.
This special issue welcomes the submission of various types of articles, such as original research papers, perspectives, hypotheses, opinions, reviews, modeling approaches, and methods, that explore therapeutic potential, including bioassay-guided isolation, high-throughput screening, and omics-based approaches.
