Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Plant extracts are traditionally used in many medicines around the world. Plant extracts from several plants containing primary and secondary metabolites possess effectiveness and are versatile due to their excellent biological properties, and they are useful in the treatment and management of various types of human diseases. Furthermore, extracts derived from plants are receiving increasing interest due to their considerable benefits for human health.

This Special Issue sets the direction for future research in plant extracts and active compounds. Our aim is to provide high-quality advanced research and knowledge through the studies conducted by various research groups studying plant extracts from around the world. This Special Issue presents innovative research on specific plant extracts and isolated constituents, botanical medicines, and their efficacy, safety, quality, and mechanisms of action. This includes clinical, pharmacological, pharmacokinetic, and toxicological studies of specific natural products, with defined and consistent quality that guarantees reproducible pharmacological activity. We cordially invite authors to consider papers and contribute original articles on the functional and medical properties of natural products for preventing and managing human diseases.

Please note: papers describing the effects of mixed extraction from natural origin and substances without clear ingredients, such as complex prescriptions, crude extracts, and herbal mixtures, do not fall within the scope of IJMS.
