Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Hepatic injury is one of the common complications following many diseases, and it presents a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations. The use of new research techniques has providing better knowledge in etiology and pathophysiology of hepatic dysfunction and its sequelae. In addition, the use of modern molecular biology and imaging techniques has made the diagnosis of liver disease easier and more precise. However, the causes of the development of liver complications for many diseases, both those primarily related to the liver and those that are not primarily related to liver damage remain largely unknown. To minimize the risk of hepatic complications in patients with primary or secondary liver dysfunction diseases, investigation of the molecular basis and genetic predisposition leading to liver damage is required. We hope that the results of these studies will provide diagnostic and prognostic molecular markers of various liver complications for the target diseases in the future. To prevent and treat serious complications, it is necessary to have good knowledge of the etiology and course of pathophysiological changes in the liver at the molecular level.

The aim of this Special Issue is to describe advancements in the comprehension of molecular mechanisms involved in the development of hepatic complications and determining the significance of molecular markers as possible diagnostic and prognostic factors of hepatic complications.
