Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

A rapid acceleration of the deployment of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) is needed in the net zero emissions scenario to deliver significant emissions reductions across the industry, power and fuel transformation sectors. With many governments setting deadlines to achieve net zero carbon emissions (by 2050 in the UK), the focus of this issue is how to make CCUS technologies more energy- and cost-efficient. 

Accordingly, this Special Issue entitled “Energy-Efficient CO2 Capture Processes: Latest Advances and Prospects” aims to identify novel advances to decrease the energy penalty and costs associated with the implementation of CCUS processes to any existing emitting sources. This includes any experimental and modelling works which target increasing the efficiency of the separation and the overall CO2 capture, and decreasing the energy consumption of the capture process without compromising the CO2 capture efficiency.
