Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

All electric equipment and electronic components exhibit some form of thermal behavior although their thermal characteristics vary from one application to another. Thermal characterization and analysis of electromechanical plants are important to determine efficiencies and overall performance. On the other hand, heat usually produces thermal stress that leads to premature failures and may minimize the lifetime of such equipment. Hence, accurate thermal characterization may also assist in predicting equipment’s health condition and their remaining useful life management. 

This Special Issue, entitled “Advances on Thermal Analysis of Electrical Equipment and Power Electronics”, was proposed for the international journal of Energies, which is an SSCI and SCIE journal (2022 IF = 3.252).  The Special Issue aims at exploring the latest methods, strategies and algorithms developed for thermal analysis, especially those in the context of sustainability and better efficient systems. 

This Special Issue covers original research and studies related to the above-mentioned topics, including, but not limited to, power electronics and power conditioning devices, electric machines, renewable energy and energy storage systems, power transformers, industrial heating systems, fuel cells, and so on. 

Submitted papers will be published in this Special Issue subjected to the approval of field expertise after rigorous peer review process with the aim of rapid and wide dissemination of research results, developments and applications.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
