Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Polymers are some of the most versatile and tailorable material platforms with an ever-widening range of applications. They offer a wide platform of features that can be attuned for biosensing, particularly in the biomedical, biotechnological, and environmental fields. Sensors that incorporate nano and micro technologies, including micro/nano particles, micro/meso/nano scaffold structures or even microfluidics, based on or along with a polymer material platform are increasingly becoming the most sought-after structures, particularly for on-site applications, lab-on-a-chip technologies or personalized health care diagnostics. Polymers have the capability of either directly being a part of these micro/nano structural approaches or providing a support platform for the incorporation of nano/micro technologies in building biosensors. These novel approaches incorporating micro/nano particles or micro/nano-structured approaches have the potential to revolutionize point-of-care diagnostics, pharmaceutical development, and environmental monitoring.

The main topic of this Special Issue is to provide a topical overview of the latest developments in the current research of interest in nano/micro biosensing that incorporate the application/use of polymers into the biosensor structure. This Special Issue will combine novel and high-quality publications including original research articles, short communications, and review articles on polymer-based micro and nano biosensors.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Biosensors is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
