Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Lung diseases are amongst the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, with lung infections and chronic lung diseases being the top 10 causes of death in 2008. The burden of lung disease is also evident in the pediatric population, and this pushes physicians as well as researchers to improve patient outcomes by developing novel therapies and devices that can influence disease pathogenesis, course, and prognosis. This Special Issue aims to inform the reader of the clinical and research advances in lung diseases. In this regard, precision medicine, and specifically artificial intelligence, have evolved significantly. The developments in thoracic pathology, imaging, and treatment are meaningful components that play a role in bringing research findings to the bedside. Accordingly, thanks to algorithms, all of these findings can be analyzed and used for the betterment of patients afflicted by different thoracic diseases.

Globally, this Special Issue will accept high-quality research papers and original articles that have immediate relevance to clinical practice as well as multidisciplinary perspectives, reflecting the nature of modern treatment. This Special Issue will provide a multidisciplinary focus, publishing original papers, reviews, and commentaries on acute and chronic respiratory disease in addition to clinically focused treatment and management.
