Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Oxidative stress is caused by an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants in the body and poses a significant threat to cellular integrity and overall health. This Special Issue focuses on the pivotal role of antioxidants and food supplements in combating oxidative stress and its multifaceted impacts on cellular processes. The contributions within this issue explore various aspects, starting with elucidating natural sources of antioxidants and their mechanisms of action in mitigating oxidative damage. In addition, the broader implications of antioxidant activity beyond oxidative stress are explored, including interactions with different cellular pathways and their potential therapeutic relevance. Understanding these intricate links paves the way for innovative disease prevention and management approaches. Through a synthesis of original research and comprehensive reviews, this Special Issue offers valuable insights into the multifaceted role of antioxidants and food supplements in maintaining cellular homeostasis and enhancing health outcomes. Moreover, elucidating the intricate interplay between oxidative stress and cellular pathways provides a foundation for future research endeavors aimed at harnessing the therapeutic potential of antioxidants for improved health and longevity. We are pleased to invite research papers that deal with studies on in vitro or in vivo models and clinical trials with the main objective of expanding knowledge in this field and gaining new insights.
