Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Antimicrobial resistance is a global public health threat, and dermatologists encounter this phenomenon. Topical and systemic antibiotics have been used in the management of dermatologic conditions for a long time, such as acne, rosacea, impetigo, hidradenitis suppurativa, and skin and soft tissue infections. However, the overuse and misuse of antibiotics has led to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which can cause treatment failure, prolong the disease duration, and increase the healthcare costs.

This Special Issue on "Antibiotic Use and Antibiotic Resistance in Dermatology" welcomes original research articles, reviews, and case reports that explore the problem of antibiotic resistance in dermatology and provide guidance on how to optimize antibiotic use in this field. The aim of this issue is to inform dermatologists, infectious disease specialists, and other healthcare professionals about the latest research on antibiotic use and resistance in dermatology.
