Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The interaction among nutrition, digestive physiology, and the microbiota of the gastrointestinal tract influences overall swine health and productivity. Despite recent advances in pig nutrition and digestive physiology, the potential applications of this new knowledge have not been fully appreciated. For example, questions such as how one can use nutrition techniques and knowledge of digestive physiology combined to positively affect the functionality and health of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) in commercial settings remain to be fully addressed. The current Special Issue will focus on applied aspects of the integrated role of nutrition and the digestive physiology of pigs to improve productivity, welfare, and the environmental impact of pig production.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
