Dear authors,

I have carefully reviewed your manuscript and find the findings to be significant. However, there are some errors in the presentation that need to be addressed. The following points highlight the areas that require attention:

1. There is no conclusion section in your manuscript!

2. I couldn't find the novelty of your work while reading the introduction. Please highlight the unique contributions or original aspects of your research to make it clear to the readers.

3. Remove the last sentence of the abstract which is not necessary.

4. You need to double-check the abbreviations used in the manuscript and ensure that the short forms are mentioned in parentheses when first used in the text. For instance, VFA, TAC, FOS, TS and VS.

5. The literature review section requires strengthening by incorporating 5 to 10 highly cited and recent articles on multifunctional additives. These references will enhance the credibility and relevance of the study.

6. At the end of the introduction section, please provide a concise and clear list of the significant contributions of your paper. This will help the readers to understand the unique value and originality your research brings to the field.

7. Please change the font color of the description of the charts from grey to black.

8. Put Figure 1 after the paragraph that mentioned this figure not before.

9.  The data presented in Figure 2 needs to be divided into two separate figures. One figure should display the acid concentrations, while the other figure should illustrate the alkalinity buffer capacity. This division will enhance clarity and make the information more accessible to the readers.

10. The material and methods section contains several instances of unnecessary information. For example, in section 3.1, the detailed description of how Evogen works in the bioreactor should be omitted from this section. To enhance the section's focus and conciseness, please remove any irrelevant details and keep the content strictly related to the methodology employed in the study.
