Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript entitled Chromium distribution, leachability and speciation in a
chrome plating site submitted to Processes Journal. Authors have analysed the Cr content in soils. I have few suggestions of this manuscript:

In abstract section importance of this study needs to be highlighted. Contribution of this study to the scientific world should be added in the abstract section.

Following latest references should be added to improve the quality of paper:

Chromium bioaccumulation and its impacts on Plants: An overview.

Antagonistic effects of EDTA against biochemical toxicity induced by Cr(VI) in Hordeum vulgare L. seedlings.

Tartaric acid mediated Cr hyperaccumulation and biochemical alterations in seedlings of Hordeum vulgare L.

What is the hypothesis of this study needs to be added before objectives of this manuscript.

Results and discussion section should be eloborated and more references should be added.

Language of the manuscript also needs to be checked for spelling and grammer checking.

Reviewer 2 Report

The aim of the study is to assess soil Cr content from chrome plating sites.

The results shown are not suprising, howver the work does provide detail in understaing Cr speciation and distribution in contaminated sites which is important.

The abstract can be written better as it is a bit confusing

Overall the manuscript is scientifically sound.
