Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This article is well designed and written. The authors presented the improvement of a tracking laser and the data processing under different measurement conditions. I suggest that the authors add a "discussion" section to evaluate each measurement situation, such as different distances, different speeds, etc. in terms of repeatability, stability and reproducibility, and application limit.....

Reviewer 2 Report

The subject matter of the paper concerns the important issue of object tracking accuracy by laser trackers. The authors performed a series of laboratory tests consisting in tracking an object moving along a known circular trajectory. This approach to the subject should be appreciated as it allows for an in-depth assessment of the accuracy of tracking the object by the laser tracker in dynamic conditions.

My main comments concern the way of research results are presented. The method chosen by the authors, consisting in presenting bar graphs and numerical data of error values, is not very legible and difficult for the reader to understand.

In my opinion, the presented results should be supplemented with drawings shows the differences between the reference circular trajectory or its fragments and the tracking trajectory obtained by the laser tracker. Therefore, I encourage the authors to supplement the article with the above-mentioned drawings, which will improve the readability and facilitate the reception of the paper. The remaining remarks concern editing trifles, such as incorrect edition of formula No. 1 or too small letters in the drawings. It is worth also reviewing the paper in this regard.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

In the second version of the paper, the authors added two figures that improved the readability of the results. However, it is worth preparing the drawings so that the trajectory shown is in the shape of a circle, not an oval. In addition, enlarging a fragment of the trajectory would allow to clearly show the differences between the reference and tracking movements. I recommend adding such an illustration.
