This is a useful work but having some caveats that require addressing properly. Authors used Aster data to map thermal activities, while ASTER provides multiple 90m TIRs I was wondering why they used SCA for this work. Why you did not use split window algorithm given multiple bands of Aster. The introduction part of this work is too weak, does not show international significance and motivation is not well explained. I would suggest using a few works that used various thermal bands, such as Landsat, MODIS, Sea-WiFs. Doing so would put a good context of using remotely sensed data in mapping thermal activities associated with volcano as introduction section is particularly weak in the present version. Some works are suggested https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jvolgeores.2015.05.014; https://doi.org/10.3390/rs14102296; https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jvolgeores.2015.10.001 How ASTER behaves against MODIS products?
