Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As Editor-in-Chief of Symmetry, I am pleased to announce the winners of the Symmetry Travel Awards for 2018:
Travel Awards were granted to Ms. Vasilisa Nikiforova, PhD student in the Physics Department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and Researcher in the Institute for Nuclear Research RAS, and to Dr. Martiros Khurshudyan, Post-doctoral fellow at the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radio-electronics (TUSUR). Ms. Nikiforova focuses on the research of modified gravity, more specifically, gravities with torsion. Dr. Khurshudyan is working on theoretical cosmology paying attention on the accelerated expansion of the Universe, dark energy extended/modified theories of gravity and related problems. Each Awardee received 800 Swiss Francs to attend an international conference in 2018:
Ms. Vasilisa Nikiforova presented her work entitled “Issues of dynamical torsion gravity” at the “Cosmology and the Quantum Vacuum”, which was held on 2 September 2018 in Benasque, Spain.
Dr. Martiros Khurshudyan presented his work entitled “Interacting dark energy models in light of Gaussian process” at the “IV Workshop on COSMOLOGY AND THE QUANTUM VACUUM” which was held on 2 September 2018 in Spain.
It was a very difficult decision with such high-quality applications for the awards, and we would like to thank all the applicants in various fields of study for their participation and all the Award Committee members for their evaluation of the abundant excellent applications. On behalf of the assessment committee, I congratulate the winners for their accomplishments.
