2009 The inaugural issue was released. Symmetry was published as a quarterly journal.
2013 Symmetry was indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE).
2014 Symmetry received its first Impact Factor (0.918).
2016 Symmetry published its 500th paper.
Symmetry adopted a monthly publication schedule.
2017 Symmetry organised the First International Conference on Symmetry in Barcelona, Spain.
2018 Symmetry published its 1,000th paper.
2019 Symmetry organised the Second International Conference on Symmetry in Barcelona, Spain.
2020 Symmetry published its 5,000th paper.
established the following sections:
  • Computer and Engineering Science and Symmetry/Asymmetry Section;
  • Mathematics and Symmetry/Asymmetry;
  • Physics and Symmetry/Asymmetry;
  • Chemistry and Symmetry/Asymmetry;

2021 One Editorial Board Member of Symmetry, the Nobel prize winner Prof. Dr. Steven Weinberg passed away.
2023 Computer Science and Symmetry/Asymmetry was renamed as Computer.
Chemistry and Symmetry/Asymmetry was renamed as Chemistry: Symmetry/Asymmetry.
Mathematics and Symmetry/Asymmetry was renamed as Mathematics.
Biology and Symmetry/Asymmetry was renamed as Life Sciences.
