Dear Colleagues,

We would like to inform you about the upcoming International Conference on Sustainable Initiatives in Maritime, organized in collaboration with a peer-reviewed open access journal specializing in sustainability. The conference aims to facilitate discussions among researchers, industry professionals and policymakers within the maritime sector. Our collaboration with the aforementioned journal emphasizes our commitment to promoting research findings and fostering conversations relating to sustainability.

We are pleased to inform you about the forthcoming International Conference on Sustainable Initiatives in Maritime.

The conference is organized in collaboration with reputable peer-reviewed open access journals dedicated to sustainability within interdisciplinary fields.

Our primary focus will encompass the following themes:

  • Sustainability Issues in Shipping: Examining the environmental impact of shipping, including emissions, pollution and resource utilization.
  • Maritime Logistic and Supply Chain Management: Analyzing the role of logistics and supply chain management in fostering sustainability within the maritime industry.
  • Decarbonization: Investigating strategies to reduce carbon emissions, encompassing alternative fuels, energy-efficient technologies and operational changes.
  • Digitalization: Assessing the impact of digital technologies on maritime operations, covering automation, data analytics and IoT applications.
  • Technical Solutions to Shape the Future Maritime Industry: Showcasing innovative technologies such as renewable energy sources, green ship design and advanced propulsion systems.

In alignment with the existing literature, our conference builds on the established discourse surrounding environmental impact studies, sustainable development in transportation, supply chain and logistics management, climate change mitigation, and technology and innovation in shipping.

We invite contributions in various formats, including research papers, case studies and conceptual papers.

Whether your research involves systematic reviews, meta-analyses, experimental studies or intervention studies, we encourage submissions that explore the diverse facets of sustainable initiatives in the maritime sector. Furthermore, we welcome studies addressing the potential side effects of sustainable initiatives and methodological challenges in this domain.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
