Dear Colleagues,
Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) has emerged as a powerful technique for molecular detection and identification. This Special Issue seeks to bring together recent advances in the development and optimization of SERS-based sensors. Researchers are actively exploring novel materials, fabrication techniques, and detection strategies to further enhance the sensitivity, selectivity, and stability of SERS sensors. Additionally, efforts are being made to pioneer innovative approaches for the miniaturization and integration of these sensors into portable devices for on-site and real-time analysis. Moreover, SERS sensors find applications in food safety, pharmaceutical analysis, and forensic science, enabling the rapid and reliable identification of contaminants, counterfeit drugs, and evidence at crime scenes. These sensors also hold potential for security and defense-related applications, including explosive detection and chemical threat identification.
In summary, this Special Issue aims to showcase cutting-edge research on the development, optimization, and application of SERS sensors. By bringing together experts from multidisciplinary fields, this collection of articles will contribute towards the advancement of SERS technology, facilitating its widespread adoption and empowering scientists and engineers to harness its potential across various domains. Thus, we invite submissions covering a wide range of topics in various aspects, including, but not limited to:
