Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

With the advancement of digital transformation, the popularization of the internet and the ease of acquisition of mobile and digital devices, both people and companies are increasingly familiar with and adept at using technological services and products. This is because these solutions tend to offer more benefits, facilities and advantages for the population than the old and traditional models.

In this way, new technologies directly contribute to people's quality of life by facilitating and optimizing their daily activities in every area. Alongside this, the concept of Smart Cities has emerged, that is, the practice of adopting new technologies to improve and optimize public management and urban infrastructure, making these cities more efficient and improving quality of life of city dwellers.

However, for its consolidation, it is increasingly necessary to use systems and sensors to enable significant advances within cities, helping urban centers to become more technological and connected and solving numerous problems related to energy, infrastructure, transport, construction, health, housing and especially public management, among others.

Considering the above, this Special Issue of Sensors seeks articles using technologies (systems and sensors) in the search for solutions to the many problems in cities, enabling the advancement of the concept of Smart Cities.
