Internet of Things
A section of Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220).
Section Information
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical objects capable of gathering and sharing data between themselves and the Internet, as well as interacting with both digital services and people. The core objective of an IoT system is not only to connect devices, but also to provide a digital overlay of information over the physical world to support seamless, autonomous, and secure interactions among heterogenous systems as well as services and their users in multiple domains (e.g., smart industries, smart cities, smart health, and smart environments). Thus, the IoT covers a wide range of topics, including communication and networking protocols, embedded systems, services and applications, data management and analytics, and security and privacy.
The Internet of Things Section publishes original high-impact research papers on all topics related to the development and adoption of the Internet of Things. Both theoretical and experimental papers will be considered, as will review papers.
