Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the rapid evolution of technology has revolutionised many aspects of our lives, but it has also created new challenges in cyber security. As organisations and individuals rely more on digital systems, the necessity for comprehensive cyber security measures becomes paramount. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced sensing technologies can provide a powerful defence against various types of cyber security attacks. This integration is becoming crucial for organisations to effectively strengthen their defences, identify anomalies, and promptly respond to emerging threats as they navigate increasingly complicated cyber risks.

This Special Issue aims to provide the academic and industrial communities with an excellent resource covering all aspects of current work on the emerging trends of sensing technologies and artificial intelligence for cyber security. We welcome submissions that particularly focus on providing innovative security solutions to resolve real-time security issues. Review articles discussing the current state of the art are also welcome.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Privacy-preserving AI for Cyber Security;
  • Adversarial machine learning in Cyber Security;
  • Cyber threat intelligence analysis;
  • Human-centric security with AI;
  • Zero-day attack detection with AI;
  • Cyber Security in IoT and IIoT;
  • Cyber Security of robotics and autonomous systems;
  • Blockchain for Cyber Security;
  • Deep learning for intrusion detection;
  • Behavioural biometrics for authentication;
  • Cyber Security for digital manufacturing;
  • Blockchain and AI for secure transactions;
  • Sensing techniques for secure computing;
  • Machine-learning-based threat intelligence;
  • Malware detection and prevention;
  • Autonomous applications for Cyber Security;
  • Cyber Security applications using machine learning;
  • Decentralised machine learning;
  • Federated learning for Cyber Security;
  • Cognitive cyber defence;
  • Ethical and regulatory considerations with AI.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
