Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

With great enthusiasm, we are pleased to invite you to contribute to our upcoming Special Issue on "Sustainable Additive Manufacturing: Design, Processes, and Production Control." Additive manufacturing (AM) has grown significantly in recent years, offering new solutions to traditional manufacturing challenges. Therefore, it is crucial to promote sustainable practices in AM as we navigate the complexities of our global landscape.

This Special Issue aims to showcase state-of-the-art research and advancements in sustainable additive manufacturing, emphasizing the critical aspects of design, processes, and production control. We are seeking contributions that explore new approaches, methodologies, and technologies to reduce environmental impact, optimize resource utilization, and promote a more sustainable future for additive manufacturing

Potential topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Innovations in eco-friendly materials for additive manufacturing;
  • Energy-efficient and resource-conscious additive manufacturing processes;
  • Life cycle assessments and environmental impact studies of additive manufacturing techniques;
  • Integration of renewable energy sources in additive manufacturing facilities;
  • Recycling and waste reduction strategies in additive manufacturing;
  • Novel designs and strategies for enhancing material efficiency in additive manufacturing;
  • Advances in real-time monitoring and control systems for sustainable production.

This Special Issue aims to contribute significantly to the discussion on sustainable additive manufacturing by promoting collaboration among researchers, engineers, and practitioners. We encourage submissions that present theoretical frameworks and practical applications, aiming to shape a more sustainable and responsible future for the additive manufacturing industry.

We look forward to your valuable contributions and the collective exploration of sustainable practices in additive manufacturing.

Best Regards,

Prof. Dr. Johnnatan Rodríguez

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
