Dear Colleagues,
Polymer-based materials are characterized by macromolecules with different functional groups and consist of a wide range of chemical–physical configurations. The fascinating world of nanocomposites offers materials with unique properties and new functionality due to the use of a combination of organic–inorganic materials, which would otherwise not be achievable with pristine materials. Nanoscale engineering allows for tunability of composition, structure, and size to achieve final properties suitable for varying, disparate applications. This Special Issue will cover basic scientific and engineering advances, such as novel manufacturing approaches for polymer-based materials and nanocomposites, to contribute to the diverse field of emerging applications, including those in energy production and storage, sensors, electronics, biomedical and bio-based smart devices, green technology, food industry, etc.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
