Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Weeds, plant diseases and pests can significantly reduce the quality and quantity of crop yields. There are many methods available to reduce their occurrence. The chemical method is the most popular method for their control, and an increasing number of factors make it necessary to limit them. The solution is to replace chemical agents with other methods or use hybrid strategies that combine different options. It is also possible to use substances, e.g., adjuvants, which allow the achievement of appropriate effectiveness of pesticides used in reduced doses. Among the non-chemical methods, important are, among others, breeding, biological, mechanical and physical methods that help protect crops. It is important to remember that, with the world's population constantly growing, it is necessary to prevent the occurrence of weeds, plant diseases and pests in fields to ensure food security. The integration of various methods allows you to achieve this goal while caring for the natural environment.
