Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The interaction between fungi and plants is complex. Different perspectives on this interaction have been developed under different scenarios. With the arrival of climatic changes that produce droughts or floods, plants will be highly affected. Therefore, to mitigate negative impacts, adaptation mechanisms must be established, which involve biochemical and physiological adjustments. In this sense, interactions with fungi, yeasts and bacteria will be important for the benefit of plants or their adaptation to the environment. The interest in understanding the mechanisms that underlie the phytopathogen–plant interaction has allowed us to advance the knowledge of biochemical and physiological aspects occurring not only at the plant level when responding to phytopathogen attack, but also regarding the changes that these pathogens present. In this Special Issue, we welcome colleagues to contribute critical review articles or original research articles that include biochemical and physiological aspects arising in this interaction, either by the plant or by the phytopathogen.

Topics of interest include:

  • Nutrient uptake;
  • Signal network;
  • Altered plant morphology;
  • Metabolites accumulation;
