Dear Colleagues,
Recent studies have reported on the discovery of emerging bee infectious diseases. Bees are susceptible to bacteria, viruses, and parasites. The invasion of non-native bees could spread novel pathogens, causing emerging infectious diseases (EIDs). From the WOAH, six diseases are major causes of elevated losses of honey bee colonies.
Six diseases of bees are listed in the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code:
- Acarapisosis of honey bees;
- American foulbrood of honey bees;
- European foulbrood of honey bees;
- Small hive beetle infestation (Aethina tumida);
- Tropilaelaps infestation of honey bees;
- Varroosis of honey bees.
Furthermore, deformed wing virus is also a main viruses for bees. To diagnose, protect against, and prevent the emerging infectious bee diseases, we welcome all types of articles to be considered for publication in this Special Issue, including short reports, primary research articles, and reviews.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Pathogens is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
