Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Metals 2024 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Peijian Shi.

Dr. Peijian Shi is a post-doctoral researcher of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at City University of Hong Kong, China. Dr. Shi’s research interests include high-entropy alloys, Al and Cu alloys, and cryogenic steels. Dr. Shi received his PhD in 2021 and boasts an impressive publication record, with 21 articles published in peer-reviewed international journals.

Notably, he served as the first author for articles in Science and Nature Communications, both of which were recognized as ESCI Highly Cited Papers—a remarkable accomplishment in today’s competitive landscape. He is clearly a rising star in the field of high-entropy alloys. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Peijian Shi on his outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Peijian Shi will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before 31 December 2024 in Metals after peerreview, and an electronic certificate.
