| 2018 | Metals published its 1,000th paper. Metals held two physical editorial board meetings at the TMS 2018 and the Thermec’ 2018, respectively. Metals announced the first edition of the Young Investigator Award. Metals became an affiliated journal of the Portuguese Materials Society (SPM). |
| 2019 | Metals held a physical editorial board meeting at the Euromat 2019. Metals announced the first edition of the Outstanding Reviewer Awards. |
