Dear Colleagues,
The concerns regarding the long-term availability of fossil fuels enforce the usage of renewable resources in the current century. Solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass are the key components of renewable technologies thus far. During the recent event of Ansole, which was held at the university of Zewail City of Science and Technology, in Egypt, current developments and perspectives of renewable energy, especially in Africa, with respect to technologies, finances, and future locations, were the primary focus.
This Special Issue aims to shed light on the most important conclusion of the aforementioned event, while, at the same time, cover international research activities on all aspects of renewable solar energy and its function in the forms of solar absorbers, thermal emitters, photovoltaics, optoelectronics, solar detoxifications, fuel production, photo-catalysts, transparent conductors, and others. In particular, manuscripts on innovative fabrication methods and characterization approaches of organic, inorganic, and composite materials at the micro/nano-scale, as well the design of sustainable energy systems and future perspectives, are highly welcome.
