Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) are a group of respiratory diseases, often idiopathic, that frequently affect older people in the general population. Altogether, ILD patients represent about 15% of all patients referred to respiratory medicine. The diagnosis still remains a challenge, and a multidisciplinary team is mandatory for an optimal therapy. This Special Issue of Journal of Respiration invites contributions that summarize the state-of-the-art of current research, new entities, and multidisciplinary approaches to studying and treating ILDs. We invite contributions on well-established topics in the radiological and pathological diagnosis of ILDs, such as IPF, environment-related diseases, autoimmune diseases, and lung transplantation, but also in new emerging topics, such as the role of the potential of AI in ILD diagnosis or post-COVID-19 manifestations in the family of ILDs.
