Travel Award

Dear Colleagues,

As Editor-in-Chief of J. Imaging, I am pleased to announce the winners of the J. Imaging 2020–2021 Travel Awards.

The awards have been granted to: Dr. Cameron Kaye and Ms. Alexandra Trujillo.

Cameron Kaye is a recent MD/PhD graduate from the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, working within the Price Faculty of Engineering’s Electromagnetic Imaging Laboratory (EIL) in the field of microwave breast imaging. His specific research interests include magnetic contrast enhancement of microwave imaging and its associated clinical applications. He plans to attend URSI GASS 2021 in Rome, Italy, to present the EIL’s research on a new related modality referred to as ferromagnetic resonance imaging (FRI).

Alexandra Trujillo is currently researching deep-learning-based high-performance algorithms for 3D anthropometric reconstruction with applications in biological anthropology, medicine and forensic sciences. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the Imaging Science Laboratory (Universidad Nacional del Sur), and she works for the National Research and Technology Council of Argentina (CONICET) in the Human Evolutionary Biology Research Group of the National Patagonian Center (CENPAT). She would like to attend 3dbody.tech to present body2vec: 3D Point Cloud Reconstruction for Precise Anthropometry with Handheld Devices.

With so many high-quality applicants, the evaluation process and final decision were challenging. We would like to thank all of the applicants for submitting their diverse and fascinating range of research topics. On behalf of the Assessment Committee, I congratulate the winners on their accomplishments.
