Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Over the years, various surgical approaches have been refined to target the specific regions of the brain responsible for seizure activity, thereby revolutionizing the treatment options for patients with the neurological disorder of epilepsy. These include resective surgeries, such as temporal lobectomy and focal cortical resections, as well as neuromodulatory procedures such as vagus nerve stimulation and deep brain stimulation. Advancements in neuroimaging techniques, such as functional MRI and PET scans, have improved the localization of epileptic foci, enabling more precise surgical planning. Additionally, the emergence of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring has enhanced the safety and accuracy of surgical interventions, minimizing the risk of postoperative complications.

This Special Issue aims to provide a platform for scholars to share their valuable insights into the current understanding of the surgical management of epilepsy. We invite submissions of both original research articles and reviews.
