Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Advanced maternal age (>35 years old) is a recognized risk factor for adverse pregnancy outcomes, including preterm birth, stillbirth, fetal abnormalities, and other complications. Assisted reproductive technology (ART) has revolutionized pregnancy management for advanced maternal-age women. However, the success rate of ART decreases with maternal age due to factors such as the age-related decline in ovarian reserve and reduced oocyte quality and quantity.

In recent years, the latest research results for controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) protocols,  preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), and egg donation have led to an improvement in live birth rates. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ART intervention in cases of advanced maternal age, from the point of view of both reproductive medicine specialists and obstetricians. Authors are welcome to submit papers for this Special Issue to discuss the progress in clinical research and practice of assisted reproductive technology for cases of advanced maternal age. Both original research articles and reviews are welcome.
