Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Imaging techniques have catalyzed a paradigm shift in the diagnosis and management of valvular heart disease, offering clinicians profound insights into the intricate mechanics of valve dysfunction. Valvular heart disease encompasses a diverse spectrum of conditions that profoundly affect the heart's valve structures, culminating in disruptive blood flow patterns and eventual consequences such as left ventricular dilatation and the deterioration of both diastolic and systolic function. The precision of evaluating and monitoring these multifaceted conditions holds paramount importance in guiding effective clinical decision making. In this context, a multitude of cutting-edge imaging methodologies have emerged as indispensable instruments, facilitating comprehensive visualization of valve morphology, function, and hemodynamics. This Special Issue delves into the contemporary applications and synergies of the latest developments in cardiac imaging, with a specific focus on their transformative role in the sphere of valvular disease. The overarching goal of this Special Issue is to underscore how recent advancements in the realms of diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis prediction for various valvular disorders have fundamentally reshaped clinicians' approaches to addressing these complex conditions.
