Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Perioperative medicine is facing progress linked to, but not limited to, regional analgesia and anesthesia and new technologies such as ultrasonography and termography. Postoperative care is used nowadays not only to provide safety but also to maximize patient comfort. Critical care is facing new problems such as the need for triage due to discrepancies between needs and capacities. New strategies are needed in ICU admissions, to increase benefits for ICU patients and to limit the possibility of futile treatment. The recent COVID-19 pandemic is a situation, where a huge flow of patients meets limited resources. This highlights that clinicians need tools to provide the best utilization of ICU beds.
Taking the above into consideration we invite clinicians, scientists, and researchers to contribute in the Special Issue of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health entitled Advances in Perioperative Treatment and Critical Care.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Regional analgesia and anesthesia;
- Optimisation of ICU-admissions;
- New tools for ICU qualifications/disqualifications;
- Avoiding of futile treatment;
- Termography in regional anesthesia and critical care;
- Future perspectives for critical care;
- COVID-19Role of central and peripheral perfusion as diagnostic and risk stratification tool.
